Tenable Network Security Certified as Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV) by PCI Security Standards Council
March 12, 2012 · Columbia, MD
Tenable Network Security, Inc., the leader in Unified Security Monitoring (USM), announced today the Tenable PCI Scanning Service has successfully completed PCI Scanning Vendor Compliance Testing. As an Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV), Tenable helps businesses ensure the safety and security of payment card data, identify network and web application vulnerabilities "from the cloud," and demonstrate compliance with the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
Today, Nessus® and Tenable SecurityCenter customers can prepare for PCI DSS certification by pre-scanning their networks and identifying PCI-relevant assets. In mid-April 2012, Nessus Perimeter Service customers will be able to scan an unlimited number of Internet-facing IP addresses and submit scan results to Tenable for PCI ASV validation and certification, all at no additional charge.
The Nessus Perimeter Service fits any size network. Scans can be initiated as often as needed, such as after significant network updates or modifications, providing instant visibility into network vulnerabilities and compliance status. The enhanced, on-demand solution will streamline PCI compliance reporting by producing certification documentation with a few simple clicks. Tenable will also provide users with ongoing access to its team of PCI-certified professionals — significantly reducing the time required to explain exceptions, flag issues, and receive certification.
"The market for stolen credit card information continues to get stronger, and as a result, every business that accepts and houses credit card data has a target on its back," said Ron Gula, CEO and CTO of Tenable Network Security. "As part of an enterprise's overall continuous compliance assessment solution, customers can now use the Nessus Perimeter Service to receive PCI certification from the vendor they know and trust."

- Real-time visibility into in-scope PCI-relevant assets, reducing the time and resources required for regular scans.
- An integrated view of risk exposure that includes Internet-facing web application vulnerabilities.
- Consolidated PCI scanning and validation, eliminating the cost and overhead associated with managing several products and vendors.
