Tenable Network Security Hires Industry Veteran Matt Alderman as VP of Strategy

October 24, 2014 · Columbia, MD

Tenable Network Security, Inc., the leader in continuous network monitoring, today announced an addition to its senior staff with Vice President of Strategy Matt Alderman. He is responsible for developing Tenable’s long-term road map to include strategies for messaging, new market entries and existing product improvements to meet the emerging needs of its customers across the globe.

Alderman will work with Tenable’s family of products, including SecurityCenter Continuous View, which provides the most comprehensive view of network health, and Nessus, the global standard in detecting and assessing network data.

“Tenable’s product offerings give us a unique positioning in the marketplace,” said Ron Gula, CEO, Tenable Network Security. “Our ability to identify all vulnerabilities, show risk across all systems and measure compliance in real-time is something that is unmatched by our competitors. Matt’s years of experience as a security expert allow him to bring valuable insight to our team and position him well as our spokesperson for Tenable’s product vision.”

Prior to joining Tenable, Alderman was responsible for product strategy and messaging at RSA. Before RSA, he was responsible for enhancing the SaaS platform and Policy Compliance solution at Qualys, where he and co-author Jason Creech published Policy Compliance for Dummies. Alderman was also the founder and CTO at ControlPath, where he and co-inventor Sean Molloy were issued United States Patent 7,788,150: Method for assessing risk in a business.

He is an information security and compliance veteran with 20-plus years’ experience, including 10-plus years developing security and compliance software.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to change existing markets and define new ones. Very few companies have the ability to change the market, but Tenable is well positioned to do just that,” said Alderman. “Tenable is full of very bright minds and I’m looking forward to collaborating with them on the future of Tenable’s products.”
