Why the CyberAgents Exchange?

FAQs

What is the CyberAgents Exchange?

The CyberAgents Exchange, powered by Tenable, is an open-source, vendor-neutral directory where security professionals discover, share, and deploy AI agents, skills, MCP servers, and playbooks built for cybersecurity. It’s the first initiative of Tenable’s Agentic AI Accelerator, designed to give the security community the shared infrastructure it’s always needed for AI-powered defense.

Is the CyberAgents Exchange free to use?

Yes. Free to browse, free to use, free to contribute. There are no tiers, no paywalls, and no fees to list your work. The Exchange is open by design.

Do I need to be a Tenable customer to use the Exchange?

No. The CyberAgents Exchange is vendor-neutral. Agents, skills, and MCP servers can work with any stack, not just Tenable products. Any security practitioner, at any organization, can browse, contribute, and deploy.

How do I know if an agent or skill is safe to use?

Every asset on the Exchange links directly to its source code repository. There are no bundled binaries. You see the code before you run it.

What's the difference between an agent, a skill, an MCP server, and a playbook?

Agents automate specific security workflows end-to-end. Skills are modular capabilities that extend what an AI model can do, typically used as building blocks inside larger workflows. MCP servers connect AI models to your existing security tools and data sources via the Model Context Protocol. Playbooks chain agents, skills, and tools together into complete, multi-step security operations pipelines.

How do I contribute to the CyberAgents Exchange?

If you've built an agent, skill, MCP server, or playbook that works in a real security environment, you can submit it directly through the Exchange. Your code stays in your GitHub repository. The Exchange indexes and links to it, with attribution to you. Visit exchange.tenable.com to get started.
