Tenable Announces Strategic Partnerships with Federal Partners
Tenable Launches Federal Channel Program to meet the demands of the Federal Marketplace

July 25, 2007 – Columbia, MD – Tenable Network Security, Inc., the leader in unified security monitoring and the creator of the popular and award-winning Nessus vulnerability scanner, today announces the launch of Tenable's Federal Partner program.  This program welcomes Apptis, Core Enterprises, G2, Government Acquisitions, GTSI, ManTech and STG International as strategic Federal Partners of Tenable.

For the last five years, Tenable has been working closely with Government agencies to incorporate sector and agency specific regulatory standards into its suite of products such as utilizing the NIST CVSS scoring system and the Center for Internet Security (CIS) benchmark standards, as well as FISMA asset classification support. In addition, Tenable’s suite of products is undergoing common criteria evaluation. Tenable’s solutions address agency requirements for:

  • Raising awareness of IT risks, vulnerabilities and protection requirements
  • Supporting audit standards
  • Identifying and classifying systems for FISMA reporting
  • Identifying PII data throughout the network

As a result, demand in the federal sector for Tenable’s products has grown significantly over the last few years.  In response to the increased demand, Tenable has committed dedicated field resources to the Government sector as well as personnel specifically assigned to assisting Tenable’s Federal reseller and integration partners.

Tenable’s new partners have been chosen for their strength in the security arena as well as their experience in complementary areas such as contract management.  The discerning nature of this program ensures that Tenable is partnering with resellers of a high caliber while keeping the number of partnerships low to protect its resellers’ efforts and margins.

“It has become clear that there are several Federal resellers and integrators who are well positioned in the marketplace to help Tenable take the Federal Nessus community to the enterprise management level,” said Ron Gula, CEO and CTO of Tenable. “Because of Nessus’ popularity, this is a large task and teaming with the right partners will help the process substantially.”
