A. Tenable Network Security is an ASV for PCI compliance. Tenable's Nessus Enterprise Cloud includes the Tenable PCI Scanning Service, which provides PCI ASV validation.

Q. How many PCI scans can I submit for PCI ASV validation?

A. Nessus Enterprise Cloud customers may submit up to two scans per calendar quarter for PCI ASV validation by Tenable’s PCI-certified experts. Tenable defines a calendar quarter as January-March, April-June, July-September, and October-December.

Q. Are there any limitations to the number of IPs or websites I can scan?

A. No. You may only scan IP addresses or websites that you are authorized to scan; however, scans are not limited by number of IP addresses or number of scans. However, for PCI ASV reporting, only complete scans can be submitted. Per PCI Security Standards Council’s guidelines, results from multiple scans cannot be aggregated for submission for PCI ASV validation.

Q. How do I obtain Nessus Enterprise Cloud from Tenable?

A. Nessus Enterprise Cloud is available as an annual subscription. A separate subscription is required for each account on Nessus Enterprise Cloud. The Subscription license is tied to the email address of the user, and user accounts cannot be shared. Nessus Enterprise Cloud subscriptions can be purchased from the Tenable Online Store. If you are required to submit a PO, please contact one of Tenable’s Authorized Nessus Partners. All purchases of Nessus Enterprise Cloud include the Tenable PCI Scanning Service.

A. Yes. Nessus Enterprise Cloud scan results and reports can be imported into Tenable SecurityCenter. Any IPs imported from Nessus Enterprise Cloud will count against your SecurityCenter license. To learn more about Tenable SecurityCenter, please visit the product page.

Q. I'm a consultant; can I use Nessus Enterprise Cloud to conduct audits of my clients?

A. Yes. As a consultant, Tenable permits you to use Nessus Enterprise Cloud to perform unlimited audits of third-party external-facing IP addresses, but you may not provide direct or indirect access to Nessus Enterprise Cloud to your clients. In addition, you are not permitted to submit PCI scans for Tenable ASV validation on behalf of your client(s).

A. Contact Tenable through the Tenable Support Portal. The Tenable Support Portal is used by Tenable Support engineers to manage requests with our customers on the incidents they file, provide a knowledgebase of information about Tenable products, and manage subscription licenses.

Q. Must I use the Tenable Support Portal when requesting support?

A. When you purchase a Nessus Enterprise Cloud subscription, you must register the name and email address of your Technical Contact Person(s). A separate Tenable Support Portal account can be created for up to five (5) Technical Contact Persons; however, only one email account can have access to a Nessus Enterprise Cloud subscription. Support requests are accepted via the Tenable Support Portal, via live support chat accessed through the Tenable Support Portal, or an email may be sent to support@tenable.com. Note that email requests must be sent from one of the email addresses provided to Tenable as a Technical Contact Person.

Q. How do I obtain a Tenable Support Portal account?

A. To log in for the first time, please use the "Forgot Password/Activate Account?" link on the login page, enter your email address, click on "Send Confirmation," and follow the instructions in the email you will receive. Your email address must be the same as the one provided as your Technical Contact Person.

Q. How do I add or change the Technical Contact information?

A. Add/Deactivate Contact directly to Nessus Enterprise Cloud (NEC): The admin account for the NEC has the ability to add and deactivate a contact directly from the NEC interface. To add or deactivate an account, please log in to the NEC as admin, click on the username at the top right corner, click on “Settings”, click on “Users”, and then click on “New Users” to add a contact or click on the “x” next to an existing contact to delete the account. For new contacts, we will send an account activation email once the account has been created. Note: Creating an account from the NEC will provide the new contact access to the NEC and the Tenable Support Portal.

Add/Deactivate Contact to the Tenable Support Portal Only: The Primary Contact (PC) for the account has the ability to add and deactivate a contact from the Tenable Support Portal. Please have the PC log in to the Tenable Support Portal, select “Add Contact”. Please note that the new contact will only have access to the Tenable Support Portal. To update the information for an existing registered contact, please email licenses@tenable.com with the requested changes. We will reply with a confirmation email once your changes are made. Note: Creating an account from the Tenable Support Portal will provide the new contact access to the Tenable Support Portal only.

A. Yes. Email addresses may be for individual persons or for a group in your organization who shares an email address.

Q. Do Nessus Enterprise Cloud subscriptions automatically renew?

A. No. They renew annually only if a Nessus Enterprise Cloud subscription has been renewed and paid. After subscription expiration, users will no longer have access to their Nessus Enterprise Cloud account data. Before subscription expiration, customers are encouraged to complete PCI scans, submit reports to Tenable for PCI ASV validation allowing sufficient time for feedback, and download their scan data.

Q. Where should I send notices required under the Nessus Enterprise Cloud contract?

A. All notices to Tenable shall be sent to the mailing address described in the Nessus Enterprise Cloud Agreement to the attention of the Legal Department.
