critical Nessus Plugin ID 78597
New! Plugin Severity Now Using CVSS v3

The calculated severity for Plugins has been updated to use CVSS v3 by default. Plugins that do not have a CVSS v3 score will fall back to CVSS v2 for calculating severity. Severity display preferences can be toggled in the settings dropdown.

Synopsis

The remote host contains an application that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Apple iTunes installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 12.0.1. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities due to the included version of WebKit. The errors could lead to application crashes or arbitrary code execution.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Apple iTunes 12.0.1 or later.
