An update of the linux package has been released.

According to the versions of the kernel packages installed, the EulerOS installation on the remote host is affected by the following vulnerabilities :

  - The Linux kernel through 5.7.11 allows remote attackers     to make observations that help to obtain sensitive     information about the internal state of the network     RNG, aka CID-f227e3ec3b5c. This is related to     drivers/char/random.c and     kernel/time/timer.c.(CVE-2020-16166)

  - A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's implementation     of the invert video code on VGA consoles when a local     attacker attempts to resize the console, calling an     ioctl VT_RESIZE, which causes an out-of-bounds write to     occur. This flaw allows a local user with access to the     VGA console to crash the system, potentially escalating     their privileges on the system. The highest threat from     this vulnerability is to data confidentiality and     integrity as well as system     availability.(CVE-2020-14331)

  - A buffer over-read flaw was found in RH kernel versions     before 5.0 in crypto_authenc_extractkeys in     crypto/authenc.c in the IPsec Cryptographic algorithm's     module, authenc. When a payload longer than 4 bytes,     and is not following 4-byte alignment boundary     guidelines, it causes a buffer over-read threat,     leading to a system crash. This flaw allows a local     attacker with user privileges to cause a denial of     service.(CVE-2020-10769)

  - An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel through     5.7.1. drivers/tty/vt/keyboard.c has an integer     overflow if k_ascii is called several times in a row,     aka CID-b86dab054059. NOTE: Members in the community     argue that the integer overflow does not lead to a     security issue in this case.(CVE-2020-13974)

  - In the Linux kernel through 5.7.6, usbtest_disconnect     in drivers/usb/misc/usbtest.c has a memory leak, aka     CID-28ebeb8db770.(CVE-2020-15393)

  - The VFIO PCI driver in the Linux kernel through 5.6.13     mishandles attempts to access disabled memory     space.(CVE-2020-12888)

  - go7007_snd_init in     drivers/media/usb/go7007/snd-go7007.c in the Linux     kernel before 5.6 does not call snd_card_free for a     failure path, which causes a memory leak, aka     CID-9453264ef586.(CVE-2019-20810)

  - An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel before     5.0.6. In rx_queue_add_kobject() and     netdev_queue_add_kobject() in net/core/net-sysfs.c, a     reference count is mishandled, aka     CID-a3e23f719f5c.(CVE-2019-20811)

  - An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel before     5.4.7. The prb_calc_retire_blk_tmo() function in     net/packet/af_packet.c can result in a denial of     service (CPU consumption and soft lockup) in a certain     failure case involving TPACKET_V3, aka     CID-b43d1f9f7067.(CVE-2019-20812)

  - A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's implementation     of Userspace core dumps. This flaw allows an attacker     with a local account to crash a trivial program and     exfiltrate private kernel data.(CVE-2020-10732)

  - A flaw was found in the Linux kernels SELinux LSM hook     implementation before version 5.7, where it incorrectly     assumed that an skb would only contain a single netlink     message. The hook would incorrectly only validate the     first netlink message in the skb and allow or deny the     rest of the messages within the skb with the granted     permission without further processing.(CVE-2020-10751)

  - gadget_dev_desc_UDC_store in     drivers/usb/gadget/configfs.c in the Linux kernel     through 5.6.13 relies on kstrdup without considering     the possibility of an internal '\0' value, which allows     attackers to trigger an out-of-bounds read, aka     CID-15753588bcd4.(CVE-2020-13143)

  - A signal access-control issue was discovered in the     Linux kernel before 5.6.5, aka CID-7395ea4e65c2.
    Because exec_id in include/linux/sched.h is only 32     bits, an integer overflow can interfere with a     do_notify_parent protection mechanism. A child process     can send an arbitrary signal to a parent process in a     different security domain. Exploitation limitations     include the amount of elapsed time before an integer     overflow occurs, and the lack of scenarios where     signals to a parent process present a substantial     operational threat.(CVE-2020-12826)

  - The __mptctl_ioctl function in     drivers/message/fusion/mptctl.c in the Linux kernel     before 5.4.14 allows local users to hold an incorrect     lock during the ioctl operation and trigger a race     condition, i.e., a 'double fetch' vulnerability, aka     CID-28d76df18f0a.   - An issue was found in Linux kernel before 5.5.4.   - A flaw was found in the KVM's AMD code for supporting SVM nested virtualization. The flaw occurs when     processing the VMCB (virtual machine control block) provided by the L1 guest to spawn/handle a nested     guest (L2). Due to improper validation of the int_ctl field, this issue could allow a malicious L1 to     enable AVIC support (Advanced Virtual Interrupt Controller) for the L2 guest. As a result, the L2 guest     would be allowed to read/write physical pages of the host, resulting in a crash of the entire system, leak     of sensitive data or potential guest-to-host escape.   - A lack of CPU resource in the Linux kernel tracing module functionality in versions prior to 5.14-rc3 was     found in the way user uses trace ring buffer in a specific way. Only privileged local users (with     CAP_SYS_ADMIN capability) could use this flaw to starve the resources causing denial of service.

  - drivers/net/ethernet/xilinx/xilinx_emaclite.c in the Linux kernel before 5.13.3 makes it easier for     attackers to defeat an ASLR protection mechanism because it prints a kernel pointer (i.e., the real IOMEM     pointer). (CVE-2021-38205)

  - The mac80211 subsystem in the Linux kernel before 5.12.13, when a device supporting only 5 GHz is used,     allows attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference in the radiotap parser) by     injecting a frame with 802.11a rates. (CVE-2021-38206)

  - drivers/net/ethernet/xilinx/ll_temac_main.c in the Linux kernel before 5.12.13 allows remote attackers to     cause a denial of service (buffer overflow and lockup) by sending heavy network traffic for about ten     minutes. (CVE-2021-38207)

  - net/netfilter/nf_conntrack_standalone.c in the Linux kernel before 5.12.2 allows observation of changes in     any net namespace because these changes are leaked into all other net namespaces. This is related to the     NF_SYSCTL_CT_MAX, NF_SYSCTL_CT_EXPECT_MAX, and NF_SYSCTL_CT_BUCKETS sysctls. (CVE-2021-38209)

  - A memory leak flaw was found in the Linux kernel in the ccp_run_aes_gcm_cmd() function in     drivers/crypto/ccp/ccp-ops.c, which allows attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption).

  - A race problem was seen in the vt_k_ioctl in drivers/tty/vt/vt_ioctl.c in the Linux kernel, which may     cause an out of bounds read in vt as the write access to vc_mode is not protected by lock-in vt_ioctl     (KDSETMDE). Here, the non-member can trigger creation of a     plain file whose group ownership is that group. The intended behavior was that the non-member can trigger     creation of a directory (but not a plain file) whose group ownership is that group. The non-member can     escalate privileges by making the plain file executable and SGID. (CVE-2018-13405)

  - In pppol2tp_connect, there is possible memory corruption due to a use after free. This could lead to local     escalation of privilege with System execution privileges needed.   - The SCTP socket buffer used by a userspace application is not accounted by the cgroups subsystem. An     attacker can use this flaw to cause a denial of service attack. Kernel 3.10.x and 4.18.x branches are     believed to be vulnerable. (CVE-2019-3874)

  - An infinite loop issue was found in the vhost_net kernel module in Linux Kernel up to and including     v5.1-rc6, while handling incoming packets in handle_rx(). It could occur if one end sends packets faster     than the other end can process them. The flaw occurs when     processing the VMCB (virtual machine control block) provided by the L1 guest to spawn/handle a nested     guest (L2). (CVE-2020-11565)

  - An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel through 5.6.11. sg_write lacks an sg_remove_request call in a     certain failure case, aka CID-83c6f2390040. (CVE-2020-12770)

  - A signal access-control issue was discovered in the Linux kernel before 5.6.5, aka CID-7395ea4e65c2.
    Because exec_id in include/linux/sched.h is only 32 bits, an integer overflow can interfere with a     do_notify_parent protection mechanism. A child process can send an arbitrary signal to a parent process in     a different security domain. Exploitation limitations include the amount of elapsed time before an integer     overflow occurs, and the lack of scenarios where signals to a parent process present a substantial     operational threat. (CVE-2020-12826)

  - An out-of-bounds memory write flaw was found in how the Linux kernel's Voice Over IP H.323 connection     tracking functionality handled connections on ipv6 port 1720. This flaw allows an unauthenticated remote     user to crash the system, causing a denial of service. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to     confidentiality, integrity, as well as system availability. (CVE-2020-14305)

  - A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's implementation of some networking protocols in IPsec, such as VXLAN     and GENEVE tunnels over IPv6. When an encrypted tunnel is created between two hosts, the kernel isn't     correctly routing tunneled data over the encrypted link; rather sending the data unencrypted. This would     allow anyone in between the two endpoints to read the traffic unencrypted. The main threat from this     vulnerability is to data confidentiality. (CVE-2020-1749)

  - A flaw was discovered in the way that the KVM hypervisor handled instruction emulation for an L2 guest     when nested virtualisation is enabled. Under some circumstances, an L2 guest may trick the L0 guest into     accessing sensitive L1 resources that should be inaccessible to the L2 guest. (CVE-2020-2732)

  - There is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel through 5.5.2 in the vc_do_resize function in     drivers/tty/vt/vt.c. (CVE-2020-8647)

  - There is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel through 5.5.2 in the vgacon_invert_region     function in drivers/video/console/vgacon.c. (CVE-2020-8649)

  - An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel 3.16 through 5.5.6. set_fdc in drivers/block/floppy.c leads to     a wait_til_ready out-of-bounds read because the FDC index is not checked for errors before assigning it,     aka CID-2e90ca68b0d2. (CVE-2020-9383)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

The remote OracleVM system is missing necessary patches to address security updates:

  - The imon_probe function in drivers/media/rc/imon.c in the Linux kernel through 4.13.11 allows local users     to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and system crash) or possibly have unspecified     other impact via a crafted USB device. (CVE-2017-16537)

  - In the Linux kernel before 4.13.5, a local user could create keyrings for other users via keyctl commands,     setting unwanted defaults or causing a denial of service. (CVE-2017-18270)

  - The KEYS subsystem in the Linux kernel before 4.10.13 allows local users to cause a denial of service     (memory consumption) via a series of KEY_REQKEY_DEFL_THREAD_KEYRING keyctl_set_reqkey_keyring calls.

  - In get_futex_key of futex.c, there is a use-after-free due to improper locking. This could lead to local     escalation of privilege with no additional privileges needed.   - In the IPv4 implementation in the Linux kernel before 5.12.4, net/ipv4/route.c has an information leak     because the hash table is very small. (CVE-2021-45486)

  - A vulnerability was found in linux kernel, where an information leak occurs via ext4_extent_header to     userspace. (CVE-2022-0850)

  - A use-after-free flaw was found in fs/ext4/namei.c:dx_insert_block() in the Linux kernel's filesystem sub-     component. This flaw allows a local attacker with a user privilege to cause a denial of service.

  - Dm-verity is used for extending root-of-trust to root filesystems. LoadPin builds on this property to     restrict module/firmware loads to just the trusted root filesystem. Device-mapper table reloads currently     allow users with root privileges to switch out the target with an equivalent dm-linear target and bypass     verification till reboot. This allows root to bypass LoadPin and can be used to load untrusted and     unverified kernel modules and firmware, which implies arbitrary kernel execution and persistence for     peripherals that do not verify firmware updates. We recommend upgrading past commit     4caae58406f8ceb741603eee460d79bacca9b1b5 (CVE-2022-2503)

  - A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's driver for the ASIX AX88179_178A-based USB 2.0/3.0 Gigabit Ethernet     Devices. The vulnerability contains multiple out-of-bounds reads and possible out-of-bounds writes.

  - A race condition was found in the Linux kernel's IP framework for transforming packets (XFRM subsystem)     when multiple calls to xfrm_probe_algs occurred simultaneously. This flaw could allow a local attacker to     potentially trigger an out-of-bounds write or leak kernel heap memory by performing an out-of-bounds read     and copying it into a socket. (CVE-2022-3028)

  - An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel through 5.18.14. xfrm_expand_policies in     net/xfrm/xfrm_policy.c can cause a refcount to be dropped twice. (CVE-2022-36879)
