Synopsis

PHP 7.1.x < 7.1.22 Transfer-Encoding Parameter XSS Vulnerability

Description

According to its banner, the version of PHP running on the remote web server is 5.6.x prior to 5.6.38, 7.0.x prior to 7.0.32, 7.1.x prior to 7.1.22 or 7.2.x prior to 7.2.10. It is, therefore, affected by a cross-site scripting vulnerability. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to inject malicious code which executes within the security context of the affected site.

Note that the scanner has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to PHP version 7.1.22 or later.
