MariaDB 10.1.0 < 10.1.9 Multiple Vulnerabilities

high Nessus Plugin ID 93718

Synopsis

The remote database server is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of MariaDB installed on the remote host is prior to 10.1.9. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the mariadb-10-1-9-release-notes advisory.

- Unspecified vulnerability in Oracle MySQL 5.5.45 and earlier and 5.6.26 and earlier allows local users to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability via vectors related to Server: Option. (CVE-2016-3471)

- wolfSSL (formerly CyaSSL) before 3.6.8 does not properly handle faults associated with the Chinese Remainder Theorem (CRT) process when allowing ephemeral key exchange without low memory optimizations on a server, which makes it easier for remote attackers to obtain private RSA keys by capturing TLS handshakes, aka a Lenstra attack. (CVE-2015-7744)

- Unspecified vulnerability in Oracle MySQL 5.6.27 and earlier and MariaDB before 10.0.22 and 10.1.x before 10.1.9 allows remote authenticated users to affect availability via unknown vectors related to InnoDB.
(CVE-2016-0610)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to MariaDB version 10.1.9 or later.
