medium Nessus Plugin ID 88381
New! Plugin Severity Now Using CVSS v3

The calculated severity for Plugins has been updated to use CVSS v3 by default. Plugins that do not have a CVSS v3 score will fall back to CVSS v2 for calculating severity. Severity display preferences can be toggled in the settings dropdown.

Synopsis

The remote host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of Oracle MySQL installed on the remote host is 5.6.x prior to 5.6.12. It is, therefore, affected by an unspecified flaw in the Optimizer subcomponent. An authenticated, remote attacker can exploit this to cause a denial of service condition.

Solution

Apply the appropriate patch according to the January 2016 Oracle Critical Patch Update advisory.
