AlmaLinux 9.2 [TuxCare] Security Update: NetworkManager / NetworkManager-adsl / NetworkManager-bluetooth / etc (ALMALINUX9.2:CLSA-2025:1764322970)

low Nessus Plugin ID 360443

Synopsis

The AlmaLinux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The AlmaLinux 9.2 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the TuxCare ALMALINUX9.2:CLSA-2025:1764322970 advisory.

- DHCP can add routes to a client's routing table via the classless static route option (121). VPN-based security solutions that rely on routes to redirect traffic can be forced to leak traffic over the physical interface. An attacker on the same local network can read, disrupt, or possibly modify network traffic that was expected to be protected by the VPN. (CVE-2024-3661)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages based on the guidance in TuxCare advisory ALMALINUX9.2:CLSA-2025:1764322970.
