The remote SUSE host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLED15 / SLED_SAP15 / SLES15 / SLES_SAP15 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the SUSE-SU-2022:1930-1 advisory.

 - An error in the lha_read_file_header_1() function (archive_read_support_format_lha.c) in libarchive 3.2.2 allows remote attackers to trigger an out-of-bounds read memory access and subsequently cause a crash via a specially crafted archive. (CVE-2017-5601)

 - libarchive 3.4.1 through 3.5.1 has a use-after-free in copy_string (called from do_uncompress_block and process_block). (CVE-2021-36976)

 - Libarchive v3.6.0 was discovered to contain an out-of-bounds read via the component zipx_lzma_alone_init.
 (CVE-2022-26280)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected bsdtar, libarchive-devel and / or libarchive13 packages.
