Synopsis

The remote SUSE host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLES11 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SUSE- SU-2021:14690-1 advisory.

- A flaw was found in xorg-x11-server in versions before 1.20.11. An integer underflow can occur in xserver which can lead to a local privilege escalation. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality and integrity as well as system availability. (CVE-2021-3472)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected xorg-x11-Xvnc, xorg-x11-server and / or xorg-x11-server-extra packages.
