Adobe Experience Manager < 6.5.9.0 Multiple Vulnerabilities (APSB21-39)

high Nessus Plugin ID 150491

Synopsis

The Adobe Experience Manager instance installed on the remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities

Description

The version of Adobe Experience Manager installed on the remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the APSB21-39 advisory, including the following:

- A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists due to improper validation of user-supplied input before returning it to users. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this, by convincing a user to click a specially crafted URL, to execute arbitrary script code in a user's browser session.
(CVE-2021-28625)

- Adobe Experience Manager is vulnerable to server-side request forgery. A remote, authenticated attacker can exploit this to bypass a security feature. (CVE-2021-28627)

- The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass authorization process. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can bypass authorization process and gain unauthorized access to the application. (CVE-2021-28626)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update to Adobe Experience Manager version 6.5.9.0 or later.
