In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: remove xfs_attr_leaf_hasname The calling convention of xfs_attr_leaf_hasname() is problematic, because it returns a NULL buffer when xfs_attr3_leaf_read fails, a valid buffer when xfs_attr3_leaf_lookup_int returns -ENOATTR or -EEXIST, and a non-NULL buffer pointer for an already released buffer when xfs_attr3_leaf_lookup_int fails with other error values. Fix this by simply open coding xfs_attr_leaf_hasname in the callers, so that the buffer release code is done by each caller of xfs_attr3_leaf_read.

The remote Ubuntu 22.04 LTS / 24.04 LTS host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the USN-8497-1 advisory.

    It was discovered that the Linux kernel did not properly handle shared page fragments during socket buffer     operations, collectively known as Dirty Frag. A logic flaw existed in the XFRM ESP-in-TCP subsystem and in     the RxRPC networking subsystem when processing paged fragments.     It was discovered that a logic flaw existed in the XFRM ESP-in-TCP subsystem in the Linux kernel when     handling socket buffer fragments. This flaw is known as Fragnesia.   - xfs: remove xfs_attr_leaf_hasname The calling convention of xfs_attr_leaf_hasname() is problematic,     because it returns a NULL buffer when xfs_attr3_leaf_read fails, a valid buffer when     xfs_attr3_leaf_lookup_int returns -ENOATTR or -EEXIST, and a non-NULL buffer pointer for an already     released buffer when xfs_attr3_leaf_lookup_int fails with other error values. Fix this by simply open     coding xfs_attr_leaf_hasname in the callers, so that the buffer release code is done by each caller of     xfs_attr3_leaf_read. (CVE-2026-43153)
