In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: atm: fix crash due to unvalidated vcc pointer in sigd_send() Reproducer available at [1]. The ATM send path (sendmsg -> vcc_sendmsg -> sigd_send) reads the vcc pointer from msg->vcc and uses it directly without any validation. This pointer comes from userspace via sendmsg() and can be arbitrarily forged: int fd = socket(AF_ATMSVC, SOCK_DGRAM, 0); ioctl(fd, ATMSIGD_CTRL); // become ATM signaling daemon struct msghdr msg = { .msg_iov = &iov, ... }; *(unsigned long *)(buf + 4) = 0xdeadbeef; // fake vcc pointer sendmsg(fd, &msg, 0); // kernel dereferences 0xdeadbeef In normal operation, the kernel sends the vcc pointer to the signaling daemon via sigd_enq() when processing operations like connect(), bind(), or listen(). The daemon is expected to return the same pointer when responding. However, a malicious daemon can send arbitrary pointer values. Fix this by introducing find_get_vcc() which validates the pointer by searching through vcc_hash (similar to how sigd_close() iterates over all VCCs), and acquires a reference via sock_hold() if found. Since struct atm_vcc embeds struct sock as its first member, they share the same lifetime. Therefore using sock_hold/sock_put is sufficient to keep the vcc alive while it is being used. Note that there may be a race with sigd_close() which could mark the vcc with various flags (e.g., ATM_VF_RELEASED) after find_get_vcc() returns.   - In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dst: fix races in     rt6_uncached_list_del() and rt_del_uncached_list() syzbot was able to crash the kernel in     rt6_uncached_list_flush_dev() in an interesting way [1] Crash happens in list_del_init()/INIT_LIST_HEAD()     while writing list->prev, while the prior write on list->next went well. static inline void     INIT_LIST_HEAD(struct list_head *list) { WRITE_ONCE(list->next, list); // This went well     WRITE_ONCE(list->prev, list); // Crash, @list has been freed. } Issue here is that rt6_uncached_list_del()     did not attempt to lock ul->lock, as list_empty(&rt->dst.rt_uncached) returned true because the     WRITE_ONCE(list->next, list) happened on the other CPU. We might use list_del_init_careful() and     list_empty_careful(), or make sure rt6_uncached_list_del() always grabs the spinlock whenever     rt->dst.rt_uncached_list has been set. A similar fix is neeed for IPv4.   - In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tls: Fix race condition in     tls_sw_cancel_work_tx() This issue was discovered during a code audit. After cancel_delayed_work_sync() is     called from tls_sk_proto_close(), tx_work_handler() can still be scheduled from paths such as the Delayed     ACK handler or ksoftirqd.   - In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/umad: Reject negative data_len in     ib_umad_write ib_umad_write computes data_len from user-controlled count and the MAD header sizes. With a     mismatched user MAD header size and RMPP header length, data_len can become negative and reach     ib_create_send_mad(). This can make the padding calculation exceed the segment size and trigger an out-of-     bounds memset in alloc_send_rmpp_list().   - net: atm: fix crash due to unvalidated vcc pointer in sigd_send() Reproducer available at [1]. The ATM     send path (sendmsg -> vcc_sendmsg -> sigd_send) reads the vcc pointer from msg->vcc and uses it directly     without any validation. This pointer comes from userspace via sendmsg() and can be arbitrarily forged: int     fd = socket(AF_ATMSVC, SOCK_DGRAM, 0); ioctl(fd, ATMSIGD_CTRL); // become ATM signaling daemon struct     msghdr msg = { .msg_iov = &iov, ... }; *(unsigned long *)(buf + 4) = 0xdeadbeef; // fake vcc pointer     sendmsg(fd, &msg, 0); // kernel dereferences 0xdeadbeef In normal operation, the kernel sends the vcc     pointer to the signaling daemon via sigd_enq() when processing operations like connect(), bind(), or     listen(). The daemon is expected to return the same pointer when responding. However, a malicious daemon     can send arbitrary pointer values. Fix this by introducing find_get_vcc() which validates the pointer by     searching through vcc_hash (similar to how sigd_close() iterates over all VCCs), and acquires a reference     via sock_hold() if found. Since struct atm_vcc embeds struct sock as its first member, they share the same     lifetime. Therefore using sock_hold/sock_put is sufficient to keep the vcc alive while it is being used.
    Note that there may be a race with sigd_close() which could mark the vcc with various flags (e.g.,     ATM_VF_RELEASED) after find_get_vcc() returns. However, sock_hold() guarantees the memory remains valid,     so this race only affects the logical state, not memory safety. [1]:
