Joomla! 1.7.x < 3.9.6 Multiple Vulnerabilities

Description

According to its self-reported version number, the detected Joomla! application is affected by multiple vulnerabilities :

- A protection bypass exists in versions 3.9.3 to 3.9.5 within the Phar Stream Wrapper Interceptor due to path traversal

- A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in versions 1.7.0 to 3.9.5 due to improper validation of user-supplied input in debug views of com_users

Note that the scanner has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update to Joomla! version 3.9.6 or latest.
