PHP 7.1.x < 7.1.28 Multiple Vulnerabilities

critical Web App Scanning Plugin ID 98535

Synopsis

PHP 7.1.x < 7.1.28 Multiple Vulnerabilities

Description

According to its banner, the version of PHP running on the remote web server is 7.1.x prior to 7.1.28, 7.2.x prior to 7.2.17 or 7.3.x prior to 7.3.4. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

- A heap-based buffer over-read condition exists in php_ifd_get32s in exif.c.

- A heap-based buffer overflow condition exists in exif_iif_add_value in exif.c as a result of improperly checking input length.

Note that the scanner has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to PHP version 7.1.28 or later.
