Webmin < 2.652 Server-Side Request Forgery

medium Web App Scanning Plugin ID 115745

Synopsis

Webmin < 2.652 Server-Side Request Forgery

Description

According to its self-reported version, the Webmin install hosted on the remote host is prior to 2.652. It is, therefore, affected by a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in the Upload and Download and File Manager modules. An untrusted Webmin user with access to modules that can download files from other URLs could use this feature to access sites which are not reachable from the user's system, such as internal servers or Cloud provider IAM credential URLs (CVE-2026-102337).

Note that the scanner has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update to Webmin version 2.652 or latest.
