Angular 22.x < 22.2.0 Denial of Service

Description

According to its self-reported version number, Angular is prior to 20.0.0, 20.x prior to 20.3.32, 21.x prior to 21.2.24 or 22.x prior to 22.2.0. It is, therefore, affected by a denial of service vulnerability in @angular/router when Server-Side Rendering (SSR) is enabled. Numeric URL matrix parameter or outlet names cause the V8 engine to allocate dense array backing stores sized to the largest index, allowing an unauthenticated remote attacker to achieve asymmetric memory amplification and exhaust the Node.js memory heap. (CVE-2026-101896)

Note that the scanner has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Angular version 22.2.0 or later.
