Synopsis

PDF.js < 4.2.67 Arbitrary JavaScript Execution

Description

According to its self-reported version number, PDF.js is prior to 4.2.67. It is, therefore, affected by an arbitrary JavaScript execution vulnerability due to a missing type check when handling fonts. When PDF.js loads a malicious PDF document with the isEvalSupported option set to true (the default value), attacker-controlled JavaScript is executed in the context of the hosting domain. (CVE-2024-4367)

Note that the scanner has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to PDF.js version 4.2.67 or later. Alternatively, set the isEvalSupported option to false.
