PDF.js 5.6.83 < 6.2.108 Arbitrary JavaScript Execution

Description

According to its self-reported version number, PDF.js is 5.6.83 or later but prior to 6.2.108. It is, therefore, affected by an arbitrary JavaScript execution vulnerability. When PDF.js loads a malicious PDF document with the enableScripting option set to true (the default value) and no Content Security Policy restricting script-src, attacker-controlled JavaScript is executed in the context of the hosting domain. (CVE-2026-16633)

Note that the scanner has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to PDF.js version 6.2.108 or later. Alternatively, set the enableScripting option to false or deploy a Content Security Policy disallowing script-src.
