Synopsis

Atlassian Jira 8.9.0 < 8.9.1 Multiple Vulnerabilities

Description

According to its self-reported version number, the instance of Atlassian Jira hosted on the remote web server is prior to version 8.5.5, 8.6.0 prior to 8.8.2 or 8.9.0 prior to 8.9.1. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

- A flaw which allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary HTML or JavaScript via a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability issue attachments with a vnd.wap.xhtml+xml content type (CVE-2020-4024).

- A flaw which allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary HTML or JavaScript via a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Issue attachments (CVE-2020-4022).

Note that the scanner has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Atlassian Jira version 8.9.1 or later.
