Atlassian Jira < 8.5.5 DLL Hijacking

Description

According to its self-reported version number, the instance of Atlassian Jira hosted on the remote web server is 8.0.x prior to 8.7.0. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability which permits when deployed onto the Windows operating system environment which allows local system attackers who have permission to write a dll file in a directory in the global path environmental variable variable to inject code & escalate their privileges via a DLL hijacking vulnerability.

Note that the scanner has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Atlassian Jira version 8.5.5 or later.
