Atlassian Jira 8.6.0 < 8.8.1 Template Insecure Deserialization

Description

According to its self-reported version number, the instance of Atlassian Jira hosted on the remote web server is prior to 7.13.0, 8.0.x prior to 8.5.0 or 8.6.x prior to 8.8.1. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability that permits remote attackers remote attackers to achieve remote code execution via insecure deserialization, if they were able to exploit a server side template injection vulnerability.

Note that the scanner has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Atlassian Jira version 8.8.1 or later.
