Atlassian Confluence 7.1.x < 7.1.1 DLL Hijacking

Description

According to its self-reported version number, the Atlassian Confluence application running on the remote host is prior to 7.0.5 or 7.1.x prior to 7.1.1. It therefore may be affected by a weakness when deployed onto the Windows operating system environment allows local system attackers who have permission to write a dll file in a directory in the global path environmental variable variable to inject code & escalate their privileges via a DLL hijacking vulnerability.

Note that the scanner has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Atlassian Confluence version 7.1.1 or later.
