Description

The version of Apache Tomcat installed on the remote host is 8.5.x prior to 8.5.85, 9.0.0-M1 prior to 9.0.71, 10.1.0-M1 prior to 10.1.5 or 11.0.0-M1 prior to 11.0.0-M3. It is, therefore, affected by a denial of service due to a vulnerability in the file upload functionality in the Apache Commons FileUpload dependency. This resulted in the possibility of an attacker triggering a DoS with a malicious upload or series of uploads.

Note that the scanner has not attempted to exploit these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Apache Tomcat version 11.0.0-M3 or later.
