Atlassian Jira < 8.19.1 Improper Authentication

high Web App Scanning Plugin ID 113283

Synopsis

Atlassian Jira < 8.19.1 Improper Authentication

Description

According to its self-reported version number, the instance of Atlassian Jira hosted on the remote web server is 8.5.x prior to 8.19.1. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability allowing a remote attacker who has had their access revoked from Jira Service Management to enable and disable Issue Collectors on Jira Service Management projects via an Improper Authentication vulnerability in the /secure/ViewCollectors endpoint.

Note that the scanner has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Atlassian Jira version 8.19.1 or later.
