NextGEN Gallery Plugin for WordPress < 3.5.0 Cross-Site Request Forgery

high Web App Scanning Plugin ID 112696

Synopsis

NextGEN Gallery Plugin for WordPress < 3.5.0 Cross-Site Request Forgery

Description

The WordPress NextGEN Gallery Plugin installed on the remote host is affected by two Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerabilities due to a logic flaw in the is_authorized_request function leading to Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) and remote code execution via file upload and local file inclusion.

Note that the scanner has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to NextGEN Gallery Plugin for WordPress 3.5.0 or latest.
