    65535 = 3 * 5 * 17 * 257, so many initial values of mss can lead toa bad final result.

    This mostly reverts commit 6bd97bf273bd (ext4: remove redundantmb_regenerate_buddy()) and reintroduces     mb_regenerate_buddy(). Based oncode in mb_free_blocks(), fast commit replay can end up marking as     freeblocks that are already marked as such. This causes corruption of thebuddy bitmap so we need to     regenerate it in that case. (CVE-2024-26601)

    x86/fpu: Stop relying on userspace for info to fault in xsave buffer

    Before this change, the expected size of the user space buffer wastaken from fx_sw->xstate_size.
    fx_sw->xstate_size can be changedfrom user-space, so it is possible construct a sigreturn frame where:

    * fx_sw->xstate_size is smaller than the size required by valid bits infx_sw->xfeatures.* user-space     unmaps parts of the sigrame fpu buffer so that not all ofthe buffer required by xrstor is accessible.

    In this case, xrstor tries to restore and accesses the unmapped areawhich results in a fault. But     fault_in_readable succeeds because buf +fx_sw->xstate_size is within the still mapped area, so it goes     back andtries xrstor again. It will spin in this loop forever.

    Instead, fault in the maximum size which can be touched by XRSTOR (takenfrom fpstate->user_size).

    [CAUSE]     During create_subvol(), after inserting root item for the newly created     subvolume, we would trigger btrfs_get_new_fs_root() to get the     btrfs_root of that subvolume.

    The idea here is, we have preallocated an anonymous device number for     the subvolume, thus we can assign it to the new subvolume.

    But there is really nothing preventing things like backref walk to read     the new subvolume.
    If that happens before we call btrfs_get_new_fs_root(), the subvolume     would be read out, with a new anonymous device number assigned already.

    In that case, we would trigger ASSERT(), as we really expect no one to     read out that subvolume (which is not yet accessible from the fs).
    But things like backref walk is still possible to trigger the read on     the subvolume.

    Thus our assumption on the ASSERT() is not correct in the first place.

    [FIX]     Fix it by removing the ASSERT(), and just free the @anon_dev, reset it     to 0, and continue.

    If the subvolume tree is read out by something else, it should have     already get a new anon_dev assigned thus we only need to free the     preallocated one.

The idea here is, we have     preallocated an anonymous device number for the subvolume, thus we can assign it to the new subvolume. But     there is really nothing preventing things like backref walk to read the new subvolume. If that happens     before we call btrfs_get_new_fs_root(), the subvolume would be read out, with a new anonymous device     number assigned already. In that case, we would trigger ASSERT(), as we really expect no one to read out     that subvolume (which is not yet accessible from the fs). But things like backref walk is still possible     to trigger the read on the subvolume. Thus our assumption on the ASSERT() is not correct in the first     place. [FIX] Fix it by removing the ASSERT(), and just free the @anon_dev, reset it to 0, and continue. If     the subvolume tree is read out by something else, it should have already get a new anon_dev assigned thus     we only need to free the preallocated one. (CVE-2024-26727)

The version of kernel installed on the remote host is prior to 5.15.149-99.161. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the ALAS2KERNEL-5.15-2024-039 advisory.

    dm_table_create in drivers/md/dm-table.c in the Linux kernel through 6.7.4 can attempt to (in     alloc_targets) allocate more than INT_MAX bytes, and crash, because of a missing check for struct     dm_ioctl.target_count. (CVE-2023-52429)

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

    net: prevent mss overflow in skb_segment()

    Once again syzbot is able to crash the kernel in skb_segment() [1]

    GSO_BY_FRAGS is a forbidden value, but unfortunately the followingcomputation in skb_segment() can reach     it quite easily :

    mss = mss * partial_segs;

    65535 = 3 * 5 * 17 * 257, so many initial values of mss can lead toa bad final result.

    Make sure to limit segmentation so that the new mss value is smallerthan GSO_BY_FRAGS.

    A vulnerability was found in vhost_new_msg in drivers/vhost/vhost.c in the Linux kernel, which does not     properly initialize memory in messages passed between virtual guests and the host operating system in the     vhost/vhost.c:vhost_new_msg() function. This issue can allow local privileged users to read some kernel     memory contents when reading from the /dev/vhost-net device file. (CVE-2024-0340)

    A vulnerability was reported in the Open vSwitch sub-component in the Linux Kernel. The flaw occurs when a     recursive operation of code push recursively calls into the code block. The OVS module does not validate     the stack depth, pushing too many frames and causing a stack overflow. As a result, this can lead to a     crash or other related issues. (CVE-2024-1151)

    A Speculative Race Condition (SRC) vulnerability that impacts modern CPU architectures supporting     speculative execution (related to Spectre V1) has been disclosed. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit     this vulnerability to disclose arbitrary data from the CPU using race conditions to access the speculative     executable code paths. (CVE-2024-2193)

    In btrfs_get_root_ref in fs/btrfs/disk-io.c in the Linux kernel through 6.7.1, there can be an assertion     failure and crash because a subvolume can be read out too soon after its root item is inserted upon     subvolume creation. (CVE-2024-23850)

    copy_params in drivers/md/dm-ioctl.c in the Linux kernel through 6.7.1 can attempt to allocate more than     INT_MAX bytes, and crash, because of a missing param_kernel->data_size check. This is related to     ctl_ioctl. (CVE-2024-23851)

    A flaw was found in the ATA over Ethernet (AoE) driver in the Linux kernel. The aoecmd_cfg_pkts() function     improperly updates the refcnt on `struct net_device`, and a use-after-free can be triggered by racing     between the free on the struct and the access through the `skbtxq` global queue. This could lead to a     denial of service condition or potential code execution. (CVE-2023-6270)

    A vulnerability was found in vhost_new_msg in drivers/vhost/vhost.c in the Linux kernel, which does not     properly initialize memory in messages passed between virtual guests and the host operating system in the     vhost/vhost.c:vhost_new_msg() function. This issue can allow local privileged users to read some kernel     memory contents when reading from the /dev/vhost-net device file. (CVE-2024-0340)

    A vulnerability was reported in the Open vSwitch sub-component in the Linux Kernel. The flaw occurs when a     recursive operation of code push recursively calls into the code block. The OVS module does not validate     the stack depth, pushing too many frames and causing a stack overflow. As a result, this can lead to a     crash or other related issues. (CVE-2024-1151)

    A Speculative Race Condition (SRC) vulnerability that impacts modern CPU architectures supporting     speculative execution (related to Spectre V1) has been disclosed. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit     this vulnerability to disclose arbitrary data from the CPU using race conditions to access the speculative     executable code paths. (CVE-2024-2193)

    In btrfs_get_root_ref in fs/btrfs/disk-io.c in the Linux kernel through 6.7.1, there can be an assertion     failure and crash because a subvolume can be read out too soon after its root item is inserted upon     subvolume creation. (CVE-2024-23850)

    copy_params in drivers/md/dm-ioctl.c in the Linux kernel through 6.7.1 can attempt to allocate more than     INT_MAX bytes, and crash, because of a missing param_kernel->data_size check. This is related to     ctl_ioctl. (CVE-2024-23851)

    Several vulnerabilities were discovered in the Linux kernel that may     lead to a privilege escalation, denial of service or information     leaks.
