Google Chrome < 63.0.3239.108 Multiple Vulnerabilities

high Nessus Network Monitor Plugin ID 700350

Synopsis

The remote host is utilizing a web browser that is affected by multiple attack vectors.

Description

The version of Google Chrome installed on the remote host is prior to 63.0.3239.108, and is affected by multiple vulnerabilities :

- A flaw exists that allows a universal cross-site scripting (XSS) attack. This flaw exists exists because the program does not validate input before returning it to users. This may allow a context-dependent attacker to create a specially crafted request that would execute arbitrary script code in a user's browser session within the trust relationship between their browser and the server.
- A use-after-free error exists in the 'DnsTransactionImpl::MakeTCPAttempt()' function in 'net/dns/dns_transaction.cc' that is triggered when handling DNS responses. This that may allow a context-dependent attacker to dereference already freed memory and potentially execute arbitrary code.

Solution

Upgrade to Chrome version 63.0.3239.108 or later.
