Cisco Unified Communications Manager SIP DoS (CSCub85597)

high Nessus Plugin ID 70089
New! Plugin Severity Now Using CVSS v3

The calculated severity for Plugins has been updated to use CVSS v3 by default. Plugins that do not have a CVSS v3 score will fall back to CVSS v2 for calculating severity. Severity display preferences can be toggled in the settings dropdown.

The remote host is affected by a denial of service vulnerability.

According to its self-reported version, the remote Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) device insufficiently limits the rate of traffic on the session initiation protocol (SIP) port, allowing an attacker to cause a denial of service condition by sending UDP packets at high rates to that port.

For Cisco Unified Communications Manager 8.6(x), upgrade to 8.6(2a)su3 or later. For 9.x, upgrade to 9.1(2) or later. For 8.5(x), refer to the vendor for a fix.
