New! Vulnerability Priority Rating (VPR)
Tenable calculates a dynamic VPR for every vulnerability. VPR combines vulnerability information with threat intelligence and machine learning algorithms to predict which vulnerabilities are most likely to be exploited in attacks. Read more about what VPR is and how it's different from CVSS.

SynopsisThe remote Ubuntu host is missing a security-related patch.
DescriptionUlf Harnhammar discovered multiple stack overflows in enscript's handling of special escape arguments. If a user or automated system were tricked into processing a malicious file with the '-e' option enabled, a remote attacker could execute arbitrary code or cause enscript to crash, possibly leading to a denial of service.
Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.
SolutionUpdate the affected enscript package.
