Synopsis
The AlmaLinux host is missing one or more security updates.Description
The AlmaLinux 9.6 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the TuxCare ALMALINUX9.6:CLSA-2026:1778894153 advisory.- An issue was discovered in libarchive bsdtar before version 3.8.1 in function apply_substitution in file tar/subst.c when processing crafted -s substitution rules. This can cause unbounded memory allocation and lead to denial of service (Out-of-Memory crash). (CVE-2025-60753)
Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
