Synopsis

The AlmaLinux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The AlmaLinux 9.2 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the TuxCare ALMALINUX9.2:CLSA-2025:1762171389 advisory.

- In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: add EXT4_IGET_BAD flag to prevent unexpected bad inode There are many places that will get unhappy (and crash) when ext4_iget() returns a bad inode. However, if iget the boot loader inode, allows a bad inode to be returned, because the inode may not be initialized. This mechanism can be used to bypass some checks and cause panic. To solve this problem, we add a special iget flag EXT4_IGET_BAD. Only with this flag we'd be returning bad inode from ext4_iget(), otherwise we always return the error code if the inode is bad inode.(suggested by Jan Kara) (CVE-2022-50485)

- In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: seqiv - Handle EBUSY correctly As it is seqiv only handles the special return value of EINPROGERSS, which means that in all other cases it will free data related to the request. However, as the caller of seqiv may specify MAY_BACKLOG, we also need to expect EBUSY and treat it in the same way. Otherwise backlogged requests will trigger a use-after- free. (CVE-2023-53373)

- In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/radeon: free iio for atombios when driver shutdown Fix below kmemleak when unload radeon driver: unreferenced object 0xffff9f8608ede200 (size 512): comm systemd-udevd, pid 326, jiffies 4294682822 (age 716.338s) hex dump (first 32 bytes): 00 00 00 00 c4 aa ec aa 14 ab 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................ 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................ backtrace: [<0000000062fadebe>] kmem_cache_alloc_trace+0x2f1/0x500 [<00000000b6883cea>] atom_parse+0x117/0x230 [radeon] [<00000000158c23fd>] radeon_atombios_init+0xab/0x170 [radeon] [<00000000683f672e>] si_init+0x57/0x750 [radeon] [<00000000566cc31f>] radeon_device_init+0x559/0x9c0 [radeon] [<0000000046efabb3>] radeon_driver_load_kms+0xc1/0x1a0 [radeon] [<00000000b5155064>] drm_dev_register+0xdd/0x1d0 [<0000000045fec835>] radeon_pci_probe+0xbd/0x100 [radeon] [<00000000e69ecca3>] pci_device_probe+0xe1/0x160 [<0000000019484b76>] really_probe.part.0+0xc1/0x2c0 [<000000003f2649da>]

Fix this kmemleak by free it in radeon_atombios_fini(). (CVE-2023-53453)

- In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ACPI: processor: Check for null return of devm_kzalloc() in fch_misc_setup() devm_kzalloc() may fail, clk_data->name might be NULL and will cause a NULL pointer dereference later. [ rjw: Subject and changelog edits ] (CVE-2023-53483)

- In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/swap: fix swap_info_struct race between swapoff and get_swap_pages() The si->lock must be held when deleting the si from the available list. Otherwise, another thread can re-add the si to the available list, which can lead to memory corruption. The only place we have found where this happens is in the swapoff path. This case can be described as below: core 0 core 1 swapoff del_from_avail_list(si) waiting try lock si->lock acquire swap_avail_lock and re-add si into swap_avail_head acquire si->lock but missing si already being added again, and continuing to clear SWP_WRITEOK, etc. It can be easily found that a massive warning messages can be triggered inside get_swap_pages() by some special cases, for example, we call madvise(MADV_PAGEOUT) on blocks of touched memory concurrently, meanwhile, run much swapon-swapoff operations (e.g. stress-ng- swap). However, in the worst case, panic can be caused by the above scene. In swapoff(), the memory used by si could be kept in swap_info[] after turning off a swap. This means memory corruption will not be caused immediately until allocated and reset for a new swap in the swapon path. A panic message caused:
