Synopsis

The AlmaLinux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The AlmaLinux 9.2 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the TuxCare ALMALINUX9.2:CLSA-2025:1745529850 advisory.

- A vulnerability was found in libX11 due to an infinite loop within the PutSubImage() function. This flaw allows a local user to consume all available system resources and cause a denial of service condition.
(CVE-2023-43786)

- A vulnerability was found in libX11 due to an integer overflow within the XCreateImage() function. This flaw allows a local user to trigger an integer overflow and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges. (CVE-2023-43787)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages based on the guidance in TuxCare advisory ALMALINUX9.2:CLSA-2025:1745529850.
