AlmaLinux 9.2 [TuxCare] Security Update: xorg-x11-server-Xwayland / xorg-x11-server-Xwayland-devel Multiple Vulnerabilities (ALMALINUX9.2:CLSA-2026:1778110872)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 360479

Synopsis

The AlmaLinux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The AlmaLinux 9.2 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the TuxCare ALMALINUX9.2:CLSA-2026:1778110872 advisory.

- A flaw was found in the X.Org server. The GLX PBuffer code does not call the XACE hook when creating the buffer, leaving it unlabeled. When the client issues another request to access that resource (as with a GetGeometry) or when it creates another resource that needs to access that buffer, such as a GC, the XSELINUX code will try to use an object that was never labeled and crash because the SID is NULL.
(CVE-2024-0408)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages based on the guidance in TuxCare advisory ALMALINUX9.2:CLSA-2026:1778110872.
