Synopsis

The AlmaLinux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The AlmaLinux 9.2 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the TuxCare ALMALINUX9.2:CLSA-2026:1778080357 advisory.

 - If kernel headers need to be extracted, bpftrace will attempt to load them from a temporary directory. An unprivileged attacker could use this to force bcc to load compromised linux headers. Linux distributions which provide kernel headers by default are not affected by default. (CVE-2024-2313)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected bpftrace package based on the guidance in TuxCare advisory ALMALINUX9.2:CLSA-2026:1778080357.
