The AlmaLinux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The AlmaLinux 9.2 host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the TuxCare ALMALINUX9.2:CLSA-2026:1782210649 advisory.

 - JIT miscompilation in the DOM: Core & HTML component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 152, Firefox ESR 140.12, Firefox ESR 115.37, Thunderbird 152, and Thunderbird 140.12. (CVE-2026-12299)

 - Information disclosure, sandbox escape in the Security: Process Sandboxing component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 152, Firefox ESR 140.12, Thunderbird 152, and Thunderbird 140.12. (CVE-2026-12311)

 - Memory safety bugs present in Firefox ESR 115.36, Firefox ESR 140.11, Thunderbird ESR 140.11, Firefox 151 and Thunderbird 151. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort some of these could have been exploited to run arbitrary code. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 152, Firefox ESR 140.12, Firefox ESR 115.37, Thunderbird 152, and Thunderbird 140.12.

 - Use-after-free in the DOM: Bindings (WebIDL) component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 151, Firefox ESR 115.36, Firefox ESR 140.11, Thunderbird 151, and Thunderbird 140.11. (CVE-2026-8947)

 - Same-origin policy bypass in the Networking: HTTP component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 151, Firefox ESR 140.11, Thunderbird 151, and Thunderbird 140.11. (CVE-2026-8950)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected thunderbird package based on the guidance in TuxCare advisory ALMALINUX9.2:CLSA-2026:1782210649.
