Synopsis

The AlmaLinux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The AlmaLinux 9.2 host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the TuxCare ALMALINUX9.2:CLSA-2026:1784712935 advisory.

 - In some code patterns the JIT incorrectly optimized switch statements and generated code with out-of- bounds-reads. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 125, Firefox ESR < 115.10, and Thunderbird < 115.10.
 (CVE-2024-3854)

 - Memory corruption in the networking stack could have led to a potentially exploitable crash. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 125, Firefox ESR < 115.12, and Thunderbird < 115.12. (CVE-2024-5702)

 - Sandbox escape due to integer overflow in the Graphics component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 147, Firefox ESR 115.32, Firefox ESR 140.7, Thunderbird 147, and Thunderbird 140.7. (CVE-2026-0880)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected thunderbird package based on the guidance in TuxCare advisory ALMALINUX9.2:CLSA-2026:1784712935.
