high Nessus Plugin ID 353003

Synopsis

The AlmaLinux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The AlmaLinux 9.2 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the TuxCare ALMALINUX9.2:CLSA-2026:1777397602 advisory.

- A flaw was found in GIMP. This issue is a heap buffer over-read in GIMP PCX file loader due to an off-by- one error. A remote attacker could exploit this by convincing a user to open a specially crafted PCX image. Successful exploitation could lead to out-of-bounds memory disclosure and a possible application crash, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS). (CVE-2026-4887)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages based on the guidance in TuxCare advisory ALMALINUX9.2:CLSA-2026:1777397602.
