medium Nessus Plugin ID 351524

Synopsis

The AlmaLinux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The AlmaLinux 9.2 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the TuxCare ALMALINUX9.2:CLSA-2026:1788271382 advisory.

- A flaw was found in NetworkManager. This local privilege escalation vulnerability exists in NetworkManager's dhclient backend when processing malformed Manufacturer Usage Description (MUD) URLs. A local user can exploit this flaw to escalate privileges by triggering a script via a crafted MUD URL, provided an administrator has explicitly configured NetworkManager to use dhclient. This issue does not affect default configurations of NetworkManager. (CVE-2026-10805)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages based on the guidance in TuxCare advisory ALMALINUX9.2:CLSA-2026:1788271382.
