Fortinet Firewall is missing one or more security-related updates.

Description

The version of Fortigate installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the FG-IR-26-173 advisory.

- A NULL Pointer Dereference vulnerability [CWE-476] in Fortinet FortiOS 7.4 all versions, FortiOS 7.2 all versions may allow an authenticated attacker to crash the httpsd daemon via crafted HTTP requests.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Fortigate (FortiOS) version 7.6.0 or later. No fix is available within the 7.2.x or 7.4.x branches.
