Synopsis

The remote NewStart CGSL host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The remote NewStart CGSL host, running version MAIN 7.02, has rsync packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability:

 - A malicious client acting as the receiver of an rsync file transfer can trigger an out of bounds read of a heap based buffer, via a negative array index. The malicious rsync client requires at least read access to the remote rsync module in order to trigger the issue. (CVE-2025-10158)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the vulnerable CGSL rsync packages. Note that updated packages may not be available yet. Please contact ZTE for more information.
