Synopsis
The remote NewStart CGSL host is affected by a vulnerability.Description
The remote NewStart CGSL host, running version MAIN 7.02, has strongswan packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability:- In the eap-mschapv2 plugin (client-side) in strongSwan before 6.0.3, a malicious EAP-MSCHAPv2 server can send a crafted message of size 6 through 8, and cause an integer underflow that potentially results in a heap-based buffer overflow. (CVE-2025-62291)
Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
Solution
Upgrade the vulnerable CGSL strongswan packages. Note that updated packages may not be available yet. Please contact ZTE for more information.See Also
