Synopsis

The remote Slackware Linux host is missing a security update to pcre2.

Description

The version of pcre2 installed on the remote host is prior to 10.48. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SSA:2026-244-01 advisory.

 New pcre2 packages are available for Slackware 15.0 and -current to fix security issues.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the pcre2 security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the affected pcre2 package.
