Synopsis

The remote SUSE host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLED15 / SLED_SAP15 / SLES15 / SLES_SAP15 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SUSE-SU-2026:3588-1 advisory.

This update for python3-pip fixes the following issue:

- CVE-2026-13346: incorrect handling of doubly-encoded package URLs from malicious indexes allows files to be installed to arbitrary locations on disk (bsc#1273090).

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the SUSE security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected python3-pip and / or python3-pip-wheel packages.
