Synopsis
The remote host is missing a security update.Description
The version of MongoDB installed on the remote host is 8.0.x prior to 8.0.28. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability:- An authenticated user with read-only privileges can cause the mongod process to terminate abnormally by issuing a crafted aggregation command, resulting in denial of service for all connected clients until the process is restarted. The issue stems from an internal engine selection inconsistency triggered by a specific combination of aggregation options. (CVE-2026-13073)
Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
Solution
Upgrade to MongoDB version 8.0.28 or later.See Also
