Synopsis

The remote host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of MongoDB installed on the remote host is 8.0.x prior to 8.0.28, 8.2.x prior to 8.2.12, or 8.3.x prior to 8.3.7. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

 - Certain query operations involving deeply nested $jsonSchema constructs can trigger disproportionate CPU consumption in affected MongoDB deployments, potentially leading to resource exhaustion.
 (CVE-2026-13064)

 - An issue in the server's Atlas Search integration allows an authenticated user to bypass per-user access controls due to insufficient input validation. (CVE-2026-13057)

 - An authenticated user with basic write privileges can cause the mongod process to terminate abnormally by sending a crafted transaction command with an incomplete set of required fields. (CVE-2026-13058)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to MongoDB version 8.0.28 / 8.2.12 / 8.3.7 or later.
