Synopsis

The remote host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of MongoDB installed on the remote host is 7.0.x prior to 7.0.39, 8.0.x prior to 8.0.28, or 8.3.x prior to 8.3.7. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability:

 - An authenticated user may be able to view session metadata belonging to other users on the system through the $listSessions aggregation stage. This information is normally restricted to users with cluster-level administrative privileges, and includes active session identifiers, associated usernames, and activity timestamps. (CVE-2026-13061)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to MongoDB version 7.0.39 / 8.0.28 / 8.3.7 or later.
